Our Story

Founded by Mr. Huang Weimin in 2015, a fervent music enthusiast, WMusic stands as a vibrant force dedicated to spotlighting musicians, with a special emphasis on jazz and classical genres, captivating audiences across China and Asia. With a mission deeply rooted in fostering cross-cultural dialogue and exchange, WMusic has earned accolades for orchestrating captivating concerts featuring esteemed artists like Jazz Legends Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Eddie Daniels, Arturo Sandoval, Mike Stern, and Chris Botti during their impactful tours in the region.

Vision:

At WMusic, our vision transcends boundaries; it resonates in the melodies that traverse continents. We specialize in curating events, concerts, and collaborative projects that not only celebrate the richness of Western and Asian musical traditions but also cultivate a shared appreciation for diverse sounds on a global scale.

Journey:

Weimin’s journey for music began at Berklee College of Music. Inspired by his son Huang Ye's enrollment at The Juilliard School and involvement with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra, Mr. Huang's understanding of classical and jazz music deepened, igniting his fervor for promoting Sino-American cultural exchange through music.

In 2015, WMusic was born out of Weimin's frequent use of "WM" as a nickname. When Huang Ye joined the Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra, Mr. Huang met Wynton Marsalis, the famous trumpet player. They both realized their initials were "WM," sparking the idea of promoting Sino-American cultural exchange through music via the creation of WMusic. In 2017 and 2019, Weimin and Wynton Marsalis took the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra on tours to China, captivating audiences across the nation.

Impact:

For the past decade, WMusic has led the charge in fostering Sino-American cultural fusion, harnessing the transformative influence of music across diverse realms, enriched by the distinguished figures from the music industry whom we've been privileged to host in China. Icons like Ron Carter, Arturo Sandoval, Mike Stern, and numerous others have graced our stages, eliciting adoration and admiration from audiences in both nations.

Future:

As we embark on the journey ahead, WMusic is poised to take on greater responsibilities in organizing transformative music exchange activities. We acknowledge the profound role of music in fostering meaningful connections between China, America, and nations worldwide. With unwavering dedication, alongside our talented artists and team members, we are committed to nurturing and deepening these intercultural bonds through the unifying power of music.
